Downey Animal Hospital is located in a plaza so there is lots of parking available. When you first arrive we always like to get a weight on your pet. This is important to track as it gives us clues when health issues arise as well as for dosing medications. Our goal is to get you and your pet into a room as soon as possible where you and your pet can be comfortable. If there are concerns about other animals in the reception area please let us know ahead of time. While in the examination room a brief history will be taken and then the vet will come in to complete the appointment.
For our clients, we provide emergency service. In case of an emergency after hours, call the office at 519-265-8387. Should there be no one in the office to pick up your call, follow the instructions on the answering machine. You may be instructed to call a cell phone, and your message will be returned as soon as possible, or, you may be referred to OVC emergency Clinic in Guelph. Please be aware that should you require services outside normal office hours, all emergencies will be charged an emergency fee and payment must be made by cash, Visa, Master Card, or Debit at the time of service.
